Le Vert Buisson is an old farmhouse built in 1764, with outbuildings. Owners before us have taken good care of it, but the house needed some serious modernisation. That is all sorted now, but we have made sure to keep to the rugged charm of the house intact. Our four rooms for guests are on the first and second floor. We live on the ground floor.
Breakfast and dinner are served in ‘De Ruif’, our dining room across the courtyard. When the weather allows it, we will of course eat outside, on the veranda or in the yard. But this is Normandy, we do not promise anything about the weather… Right next to the main house is a kitchen for our guests to use if they want to. And next to the dining room we have a small vintage shop where we sell small bits and pieces we found at local brocantes.
Our ‘pièce de résistance’ is behind the house: a ginormous veranda facing the south-west. It is a great place to be at the end of the day, to relax with a glass of chilled rosé – or a nice cup of tea – as the sun goes down.
